Mr. Wright has portrayed Abraham Lincoln for events planned by the Connecticut Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission. Throughout the commemorative period (2011 – 2015), Mr. Wright was the only Lincoln presenter the commission entrusted to the accurately portray the 16th president.

Mr. Wright was one of seventeen Lincoln presenters from around the country profiled in an exhibit titled “Being Lincoln” at President Lincoln’s Cottage in Washington, D.C. The exhibit ran from August 2010 through October 2, 2011.  

In 2016, Mr. Wright participated in the three-day celebration of the commissioning of the USS ILLINOIS submarine in Groton, CT. Mr. Wright made four speeches in two days to the ILLINOIS crew, honored guests, and U.S. Navy personnel.

In 2009-2010, Mr. Wright and Professor Michael Burlingame (Lincoln scholar and author, winner of the 2010 Lincoln Prize) retraced Lincoln’s 1860 visit to five Connecticut cities and presented a program on Lincoln and his words. The program was called “The 1860 Lincoln Lecture Tour.”

In 2008, Mr. Wright was appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell to serve on the Connecticut Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission. He served as Co-chair with Professor Michael Burlingame (winner of the 2010 Lincoln Prize, and author or editor of 12 books on Lincoln, including the 2008 two-volume biography Abraham Lincoln: A Life). Mr. Wright was also the State Liaison Designee to the Abraham Lincoln National Bicentennial Commission.
